VMA 2021: Confira os destaques da premiação

Cerimônia ocorreu no aniversário de 40 anos da MTV

Ontem (12) aconteceu mais uma edição do Video Music Awards, o VMA, premiação da MTV dedicada aos melhores videoclipes do ano. A cerimônia foi realizada no Barclays Center, em Nova York, e, além da tradicional entrega de prêmios e performances de diversos artistas, também foi comemorado os 40 anos da emissora organizadora da premiação.

O VMA já foi palco de grandes artistas do mundo todo e é bastante conhecido entre os fãs da música por ser uma premiação divertida e polêmica. Logo no início da noite, Madonna fez uma aparição surpresa no evento para desejar feliz aniversário à MTV e comemorar a relação duradoura que a artista possui com a emissora. Isso porque a Rainha do Pop foi a primeira artista na história a se apresentar no VMA, em 1984, onde abriu a cerimônia com uma performance incrível e memorável do seu hit Like a Virgin.

Com Doja Cat como apresentadora da premiação, a noite de ontem foi marcada por performances de Anitta, que se tornou a primeira brasileira a se apresentar no prêmio; Lil Nas X, que levou o prêmio mais disputado da noite, o de Vídeo do Ano; Justin Bieber; Chloe Bailey; Olivia Rodrigo; Normani; e outros.

Durante o evento, rolou inclusive confusão. O lutador de MMA, Connor McGregor, tentou agredir o cantor Machine Gun Kelly.

De acordo com o TMZ, a briga começou quando Connor tentou cumprimentar Machine, que teria recusado e dito aos seguranças para afastar o lutador. Connor insistiu em tentar tirar uma foto, recebendo um “não” como resposta, o que teria feito com que ele jogasse sua bebida no cantor e tentando acertá-lo com um soco. Porém, seguranças do local apartaram a confusão rapidamente.
